What is it?

• A common problem

• Caused by improperly trimmed toenails, curved nails, pressure from shoes or repeated trauma from daily activities

• Ingrown toenails may be hereditary

• Pain in the groove of the nail can also be due to a corn or callus under the edge of the nail

How can I help?

Ingrown nails can be managed conservatively; however recurrent cases of ingrown toenails may require a minor surgical procedure that can be performed in clinic.
